Privacy Policy
This page is the plain-English description of what watermarkcleaner.net (the "site", "we", "us") does with information when you use it. The short version is at the top, the long version below.
The short version
- The watermark removal happens inside your browser. We never see or store the image you upload.
- We do not require an account, an email, or any sign-up.
- The site shows advertising and may include affiliate links. Those partners set their own cookies and collect their own data when you click through.
- We log anonymous traffic counts (number of visits, country) so we know whether the tool is being used. We do not log which images you processed.
What we do not collect
- Your image. Decoding, masking, and inpainting run on your device using the JavaScript that ships with this page. There is no upload step. You can confirm this in your browser's DevTools Network tab: the only requests are for the page itself, the stylesheet, and the script.
- Your account credentials. We have no login.
- The contents of the file you save back to disk. That download is your browser doing its job, not a transfer through us.
What we do collect
- Anonymous page-view counts and country-level location, served by our hosting provider (Cloudflare). These are used to measure traffic and to detect abuse. They are not linked to a user profile.
- Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL) retained for up to 30 days by Cloudflare for security and abuse handling. Logs are not sold or shared.
Cookies and local storage
We do not set our own cookies. We do not write to your browser's localStorage. If we ever add a preference toggle (theme, language), we will list it here.
Third-party advertising and affiliate networks set their own cookies when their scripts load or when you click an affiliate link. The cookies belong to those partners, not to us.
Advertising and affiliate links
This site is supported by advertising and may include affiliate links. When you click an affiliate link and later buy something from the destination, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links are clearly marked as such on the page where they appear.
Advertising partners we work with may use cookies or similar identifiers to measure clicks and impressions and to limit how often you see a given ad. The partners we use change over time; the list below reflects who we were working with at the last update of this page:
- Google AdSense (Google LLC) — how Google uses information from sites or apps that use their services.
- Amazon Associates or other retail affiliate programs (when we link to specific products).
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your rights
Because we do not collect personal data tied to you, most data-subject rights (access, deletion, portability) do not apply in a meaningful way. If you want to ask us to confirm what is or is not stored, write to the address on the contact page. We reply within 14 days.
Changes to this policy
If we change anything material on this page, we update the "Last updated" date above and write a short note in the changelog at the bottom. We do not retroactively apply new terms to data we never had.
